I've been using Latex more and more on these boards, and I'd like to use it for my Physics notes that I type. Also the LaTeX stack exchange forum is a good resource with an active user community. This file will be updated as I learn more about Emacs and ESS. Book Description LaTeX is high-quality Open Source typesetting software that produces professional prints and PDF files. A list of most frequently used Emacs keyboard shortcuts are given. The Not So Short Introduction to LATEX 2 is a good beginner's guide. I've downloaded the complete verson of MikTex into Excel, where they get blurred for some reason. For more on the fonts available with a typical LaTeX installation, please see the documentation in the IMAGE Lab (page 75 in A Beginner's Guide to Typsetting with LaTeX). Shortcuts for Emacs and also for ESS are listed. I've been using Microsoft Excel but it can get very messy. MikTex 2.8 for beginners in Math & Science Software is being discussed at Physics Forums. Does anyone know of any guides to help absolute beginners in creating "beautiful documents" in MikTex? However, as LaTeX is a powerful and complex tool, getting started can be intimidating.
